What to Expect From our Work Together

There are many things we can address in our work together, and while food is important it isn’t the sole focus of my work. Ultimately, we are working to create long-lasting behavior change, by inviting curiosity and self-compassion.

Step 1: Assess

Your initial session will last for 75 minutes —— we dive deep into your medical history, what brought you here and get to know each other. This provides the foundation for setting long-term and short-term goals.

I review labs, coordinate care with your health care team and evaluate all materials that help me understand you and and your health history.

**I very rarely make a recommendation during the first session because my number one job is to listen to your story and gather as much information as I can.**

Step 2: Formulate a Plan

Follow-up sessions happen 1-2 weeks after the initial session. We will develop a personalized action plan based on your preferences, lifestyle and unique needs. You set the pace and have autonomy as my client to let me know what feels sustainable.

Your action plan could include:

  • Intuitive Eating
  • Stress-reduction techniques
  • Lifestyle adjustments that address movement, and sleep
  • Specialty labs
  • Supplements (if medically necessary)

Step 3: Weekly/Bi-Weekly Sessions

During our sessions, we will:

  • Address common food myths and misinformation
  • Use mindfulness to explore how you feel when you eat/recognize the physical signs of hunger and fullness
  • Dig into your values, and what you eat for
  • Explore Intuitive Eating principles
  • Discover movement that feels good in your body & brings you joy!
  • Establish structure, or work on having more flexibility
  • Share tools for coping with challenges

Step 4: Heal Your Relationship With Food & Your Body

Eating food is a necessity, and my goal is to help you tune out the noise and tune back into your body, so you can find freedom.

I offer evidence-based tools and compassionate support, so you begin to nourish your body in the way that it needs.

Step 5: Reassess & Refine

There are a myriad of options available for working through the struggles you are having, each session is an opportunity to explore and iterate based on your unique needs.

We will continue to revisit your goals and assess how you are tracking towards those goals.

Step 6: Maintenance

Once you are feeling more content with your body, foods choices and ability to nourish yourself — we can talk about maintenance and off-boarding.

I will be sad to see you go, but it was such a pleasure watching you grow!
